What are Doshas - Vata - Pitta - Kapha - Doshas in Ayurveda

The best tailored daily/seasonal routine depends on Doshic balances i.e. Puruha & Prakruti. Every human has three doshas which work in accordance to the seasons -

In Summer - Pitta Dosha is higher
Late Winter and Early Spring - Vata Dosha is dominant &
During Fall and Early Winter - Kapha Dosha increases

Yoga assists in Living in harmony with nature that in turn defines Ritucharya and thus incorporates that the above stated morning practices with respect to the seasons is the best way to start the day.

A rise in Pitta dosha increases heat in the body and causes Inflammation, Acidity, Fever, Diarrhea and makes you feel leads to impulsive behaviour. The great part is you can control the dominant dosha in your body and lead a healthy life. For example, eating foods which cools down the body like citrus fruits, coconuts, chickpeas, quinoa and avoiding spicy foods are some of the diet recommendations. Practising Yoga asanas and swimming are the best combinations of Dinacharya and Ritucharya during Summers.

A dominant Vata Dosha results in flaky dandruff and brittle hair, constipation and bloating and makes one restless. Similarly, keeping our bodies moisturized with Abhyanga massages and eating root vegetables and grounding foods like sweet potato, radish, carrot, beet roots, lentils, pistachios, etc. are essential during late winter and early spring.

People with Vata Dosha should also try eating butter/ghee along with their meal and can even do DIY hydration masks. Include ghee in your day to day to strengthen your organ systems.
