Skincare Guide For Your Twenties, Thirties And Forties : Skincare Routine To Follow For Youthful Skin
Don’t let your Skin ‘Act your Age’
Growing up is a fact of life (whether we like it or not lol!) and it shows on our skin as well. With hormonal changes, lifestyle and external factors like sunlight, dirt and pollution which our skin keeps on getting exposed to as we age, we notice changes in our skin’s tone and texture. From smooth and supple baby skin followed by the outburst of acne during our teenage years to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, with time the outermost layer of our skin requires more and more protection, moisturisation and repair.

Let us dig into some common skincare issues for all of our community and give you our insights on how you can provide the nourishment your skin requires!
Puberty and the Raging Hormones-
Teenage years and early twenties are one of the most crucial years of one’s life as the body starts to change, thanks to all the changing hormones. People in this age group who are said to ‘go under the skin’ require a proper skincare routine to tackle the oily skin and the pimples and acne which occur with it quite frequently.
Our suggestions? Try to maintain a frequent bath routine to keep all the bacteria that comes from sweat at bay. Applying corrective serums like Salicylic Acid as the first step to skincare regime helps to combat issues like acne, dark spots and to maintain the skin’s moisture. Moisturise your skin to lock in all the benefits while providing hydration and make your skin look smooth and glowy. After the repair and cleansing bit comes the role of a sunscreen to provide a shield against the harmful UVA/UVB rays which makes skin age. Prevention is better than cure, right? Exfoliate once a week as part of your weekly skin cleansing routine to unclog all the pores and get rid of blackheads and dead skin cells.
Is it you glowing, honey?

As we set our foot onto this next phase of our life, our skin starts to lose its elasticity and becomes thinner and less hydrated. This is because of the decrease in the production of collagen, which is responsible for maintaining our skin’s elasticity, thus making the skin dull and results in dull and saggy skin.
Wonder what to do? Use a Toner as the first step to skincare to eliminate all the toxins and the make-up that sits on the pores and clean your skin. Include Hyaluronic Acid or Niacinamide serum in your daily routine to stimulate collagen production, boost skin elasticity, fade dark spots and shrink pores. This would also reduce the appearance of age lines and wrinkles and make your skin look youthful. Don’t forget, sunscreen is your holy grail. Apply it religiously everyday and re-apply if sun exposure is continuous. Apart from just topically applying products, it becomes detrimental to take Vitamin supplements to get the glow from within.
Middle Age Skin issues or Mid life crisis? - 35+ years
With the commencement of this robust stage of life comes the fear of ageing - age lines, wrinkles, dry and sagging skin, sinking cheeks and skin marks and texture. The skin barrier also weakens and it becomes more vulnerable to further damage. Phew! The issues seem never ending. The solution?
Invest in Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol to repair the skin cells and make your skin look healthy and youthful. Follow the same Serum, Moisturiser and Sunscreen routine as talked about before in this article and fight off those signs of ageing.
